“My Bag Sculptures explore the transformation of an object traditionally associated with fashion, luxury, and personal identity into a singular work of contemporary art.

 I use the handbag as a starting point—not simply as an accessory, but as a cultural object with its own symbolism, history, and emotional associations. Through an experimental process of layering resin, pigment, texture, and found elements, I alter its original identity and challenge the boundaries between fashion, sculpture, and fine art.

The resin becomes both material and metaphor. It preserves, distorts, encapsulates, and transforms. Layers accumulate to create depth, tension, transparency, and unexpected visual relationships. What begins as a recognizable object gradually becomes something more ambiguous: a sculptural form suspended between its original function and a new artistic existence.

Each work is intentionally unique. Rather than reproducing an object, I allow the materials to participate in the process, embracing elements of chance, movement, and transformation. The resulting surfaces can appear geological, fluid, mineral, or almost otherworldly.

These sculptures are an exploration of transformation and perception—of how an object changes when removed from its familiar context. By elevating the handbag from accessory to art object, I invite the viewer to reconsider its meaning, its value, and the emotional significance we assign to the things we possess.

The Bag Sculptures exist at the intersection of object, material, and idea—where fashion becomes sculpture and an everyday symbol of luxury becomes a vessel for artistic expression”.
